Mediation

The Carlin Law Firm specializes in mediation services for family law disputes. Amy routinely offers her services as a mediator to help families reach personalized solutions to their conflicts.

Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process where a neutral third party, the mediator, facilitates communication and negotiation between opposing parties. The goal is to achieve a mutually acceptable agreement without the mediator deciding the case. Instead, the parties themselves determine the outcome. Mediation focuses on finding common ground and preserving relationships, guiding each party to prioritize their interests (such as the child’s best interests or financial needs) over entrenched positions or blame for past actions.

The benefits of choosing mediation include confidentiality, allowing parties to maintain control over their case rather than relying on court decisions. It often saves time compared to court proceedings and can be more cost-effective. Mediation encourages creative solutions tailored to the family’s specific situation, fostering amicable resolutions that preserve relationships.

Mediation sessions can be conducted in person at the Carlin Law Firm offices, at the client’s attorney’s office, or virtually via platforms such as Zoom meetings. The firm charges $900.00 per party for a full-day mediation (8 hours) and $450.00 per party for a half-day mediation (4 hours). Additional charges apply if the session exceeds the allotted time, billed at $150 per hour per party.

The Carlin Law Firm’s mediation services offer families a constructive alternative to traditional litigation, emphasizing confidentiality, control, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customized solutions tailored to their unique circumstances.  Contact us today to schedule a mediation or learn more about the mediation process.
